This 12 1/2" square is my completed homework for tomorrows Quilt Guild meeting. Each member is sewing the identical square using the beige kona cotton as the background color, but adding their own fabric of choice as the other color. It will be interesting to see how the 20+ squares will look up on the display wall.
These dark fabrics remind me of early morning whirling, swirling, busy, busy --- then venturing outdoors to discover a fog shrouded world --- and the ever present forest garden. I love the process of chain piecing!
Since I'm chain piecing, I'll be working on 6 blocks at a time. I like this speckled fabric beside the hearth block; it reminds me of sparks from a warm fire.
The green sprays on the next dark seem to be ivy climbing on a brick wall, and the darker green/red/black reminds me of a forest garden.
